FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Where is your church?

A: We are at the fork of Sheley Road and 27th Street, just down from 27th's intersection with Crysler Road.

Q:  Are you sure?  I've never seen a church there.

A: We're sure.  You know that old Thriftway Grocery store on Crysler?  We're right behind there, and have been since 1952.

Q: Aren't you that church that sells funnel cakes on the Square?

A: Yes.

Q: Are people like me welcome at your church?

A: Yes.  No matter your identity - race, orientation, gender, income, education, personality, whatever - you are a beloved child of God and you are welcome in our church family.  Seriously.

Q: What kind of church are you?

A: We are part of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

Q: Are you traditional or contemporary?

A: We think of ourselves as well-rounded and worshipful.  You'll find traditional and contemporary elements in our service, particularly in the music.  We have an organ, choir, and our pastor sometimes wears a robe, but we also sing contemporary songs, have a laid back atmosphere, and know how to laugh at ourselves.

Q: I heard your pastor is a girl. Isn't that a little......different?

A: Our previous two full-time pastors have been women who were ordained to served our congregation.  The PC(USA) has proudly been ordaining women to the ministry since 1956.

Q: Where do I park?

A: There is a parking lot in the rear of the building.  Park in any space you like.  Enter through the double glass doors to find the sanctuary, or the white door to find the nursery and church offices.

Q: What do I wear?

A: Clothes, please.  Whether you prefer shorts and a t-shirt or suit and tie, you'll find someone at Trinity dressed similarly.  Many of us err on the side of casual to business casual on Sundays.

Q: Do I have to stand up to introduce myself?  Will there be a fire and brimstone sermon?  Do you have an altar call?

A: Literally never.

Q: How long does your service last?

A: About an hour.

Q: Is your building handicap accessible?

A: Yes.  We have two exterior entries with ramps, and an elevator to all floors.  We also have a couple of spare wheelchairs you can borrow if needed.

Q: If I go to worship, can my baby/toddler stay with me?

A: Of course!  Can we admire how cute they are?

Q: If I go to worship, can my baby/toddler go to the nursery?

A: Yes.  On Sunday mornings, we provide a nursery for children birth - kindergarten.

Q: What about older kids?

A: School aged children are encouraged to stay for the entire service.  We have special children's bulletins, a children's sermon before the "big sermon," and a corner of the Sanctuary where kids can play quietly.

Q: What if my kids don't know how to behave in church?

A: That's OK, neither do we!  We believe that kids are made to be wiggly and curious, even in worship.  The more, the merrier!
